Alumni Spotlight: Sophomore Class of ECHS 1969
Once a Knight, Always a Knight: Celebrating the last Sophomore class of ECHS
The Sophomore Class of 1969 holds a special place in the history of SJS and Elizabethtown Catholic High School. Known for their strong school spirit, deep friendships, and love for the Knights, this group of alumni still looks back on their school years with pride and affection.
Recently, the Sophomore Class of 1969 held a class reunion at Impellizzeri’s in downtown Elizabethtown. Twenty members of the class attended the event along with spouses reconnecting with old friends and sharing favorite memories from their time at SJS and ECHS. One moment that came up again and again was beating Elizabethtown High School in basketball. That victory was more than just a win on the scoreboard—it was a powerful moment of unity for the entire student body. For the Sophomore Class of ’69, the win represented the spirit, determination, and pride that defined their time at ECHS.
Cheering on the Knights at sporting events was a beloved tradition. Those moments created lifelong bonds and a shared sense of pride that still connects classmates today.
“What a wonderful time we had back in the day,” said class member William Williams.
As they reflected on their time at Elizabethtown Catholic High School, the Sophomore Class of 1969 continues to inspire future generations with their example of pride, perseverance, and community. Their legacy lives on in the halls of the school, and in the hearts of all who call themselves Knights.
