April is the month of the military child. Purple Up Day is celebrated each year in April to recognize the sacrifices our military connected children make and challenges they face each and every day.
With 35% of our school families connected to the military, it is important that SJS recognize and celebrate our military connected students. Although we try to celebrate and honor them every day, at least there is one day the entire school celebrates by wearing purple, enjoying special events like cheerleaders greeting students upon arrival, a purple carpet, visit from an animal sanctuary, guest readers for our K-4th grade classes and treats shared with all during lunch.
Check out photos and videos from the entire day here!
Many thanks to the countless volunteers who worked hard to make this day possible…we have the best parents ever!!
