A TRADITION OF
FAITH, EXCELLENCE, COMMUNITY

From the Desk of Mr. Black

Dear SJS Families,

Greetings in Christ! I hope you all enjoyed a relaxing fall break. Reflecting on the unconventional start to the 24-25 school year, we navigated a lot of change in a short amount of time.  I’m proud of how amazingly our SJS family has adapted. Thanks to our dedicated teachers, staff, students, and families, we are off to a strong start.

I’m pleased to share that our students continue to excel in the classroom. According to our MAP testing data, 72% of our students scored in the Proficient/Distinguished categories for math and 70% in reading. With these scores, our students continue to outperform the state average. This success is a testament to the dedication of our staff, students, and you—our committed parents.

As we head into the second quarter, here are some updates:

Upcoming Events:

  • Parent-Teacher Conferences: Thursday, October 24, and Friday, October 25 for all students/parents  K–8th grade.
  • Net retreat – 7th and 8th Grade classes on Wednesday November 23
  • Red Ribbon Week: October 28–30, focusing on the importance of living a drug-free life.

  • Christmas Musical: 3rd and 4th grades will perform on Wednesday, December 11.

Looking ahead, I want to thank you for your support and partnership. We are blessed to serve your family, and if there’s anything we can do to better support your child’s educational and spiritual journey, please reach out. We’ll continue to focus on nurturing faithful disciples, lifelong learners, virtuous citizens, and future leaders with God’s guidance.

Blessings
