A TRADITION OF
FAITH, EXCELLENCE, COMMUNITY

From the Desk of Mr. Stith

Dear Saint James Families,

I hope this letter finds you rested and recharged from a joy-filled summer! I am honored to introduce myself as the new principal of Saint James Catholic School and I can’t wait to meet our students and families who make SJS so special. The 2025-2026 school year is the 155th continuous year of Catholic education provided by Saint James Catholic Church and I am humbled to be a part of such a long, faith-filled tradition.  I will do all I can to make the school year a great one for students, families, faculty and staff alike – filled with growth in faith, academics, service, and athletics.

Over the summer, I have been busy getting acquainted with our school and staff members to ensure a smooth transition as we embark on a new school year. This year, our school’s theme is from 2 Corinthians 5:7:  “We walk by faith”.

Sr. Mary Xavier will be coaching our staff as we all work to instill in our students a strong commitment to walk by faith.  In addition to the school theme, Sr. Maria Grace, will be incorporating our Jubilee year focus of Hope into the daily life of our school.  With the many challenges we see in our world today, we must be strong in our faith and always find hope that we can model the positive change we look to see in others.

As we look ahead to August, please mark your calendars for our Back to School Knight on August 4 from 5:30 – 7:30 PM. This event will be a little different from years past, so we hope all of our SJS families – both current and new – will attend.

5:30 – 6:20 PM – New Family Orientation in the Cafeteria, returning families can visit classrooms and meet teachers as well as grab a hot dog, chips and watermelon…we will have plenty for students and parents.

6:20 – 6:40 PM – Principal’s Address in the Gym

6:40 – 7:30 PM – All families can continue visiting classrooms or perusing tables in the front hallway with pertinent back to school information.

I look forward to meeting each of you very soon. In the meantime, please join me in praying over our students and school as we prepare to return next month. Enjoy the rest of your summer!

Best regards,

Mr. John Stith
SJS Principal
