Position Overview
The Instructional Assistant works closely with teachers and school staff to support student learning, assist with classroom activities, and help maintain a safe and structured environment throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in instructional activities with individual students or small groups
- Support the teacher in all aspects of classroom routines and instruction
- Assist with student supervision, including lunch and recess duty for K–8 students
- Provide classroom support that is collaborative, organized, and responsive to student needs
- Contribute to a positive learning environment aligned with the mission of Catholic education
Qualifications
Required:
- Two years of postsecondary education and/or an associate’s degree
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, take initiative, and adapt as needed
- Strong collaboration skills; detail-oriented and flexible
- Commitment to supporting the Catholic school mission (Catholic applicants encouraged; non-Catholic applicants welcome who will support the mission)
Preferred:
- Experience working with children in a school, childcare, or youth setting
Job Details:
- Job Type: Full-time
- Term: 10-month position (school-year schedule)
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
