Sister Maria Christi visits K-8 classrooms

As we begin the second full week of school it was so nice to have Sister Maria Christi, Principal, back on campus. She was at SJS prior to school starting, meeting with teachers and staff; however, she was unable to begin the school year with the rest of the community due to the death of her father.

She hit the ground running today by greeting students and parents in the drop off line, kicked off the day with morning prayer and announcements and then began visiting classrooms. Her time in the classroom was brief; however, meaningful in a lot of ways. She shared with all of the students how she is looking forward to getting to know each of them by name, she asked them what they like about SJS and what they believe should never change about our school community. Her sentiment to the 8th graders was her desire to get to know each of them personally prior to presenting them with their diplomas at the end of the year and that she looks forward to praying with them each day. She spoke with our 2nd grade students about how special this year is for them as they prepare to make their First Communion. She also thanked each and every class for their care, love and support throughout the passed days.

You may access a photo gallery of her classroom visits here.

Up next…preschool visits on Tuesday. Stay tuned!
