SJS Class of 2020 Return for Senior Walk Through

Throughout the past several years it has become a new tradition for high school seniors to take time during their last week of school to walk through their elementary schools.

Saint James Catholic School looks forward to welcoming the seniors each year, showing support for them as they complete their high school career and begin a new chapter. The seniors have the opportunity to walk through our halls one last time – the school that provided them a foundation and moral compass to last a lifetime.

Today, we did not just welcome a returning class of seniors, we welcomed the SJS Class of 2020! This class, because of all the uncertainly in the Spring of 2020 did not have an opportunity to participate in many of the 8th grade traditions that our students look forward to throughout their educational career.

In an effort to provide this class with a bit of “closure”, we welcomed them with open arms and planned a few extra special things during their visit. Each of the seniors were met with their 8th grade class photo hanging in the mail hallway, along with the name of the college/university he/she will be attending. In addition, they participated in the candle ceremony that would have taken place during their graduation – the passing of the “baton”, so to speak, enjoyed a slideshow of photos from their 8th grade year and reception. Ms. Dvorjak and Father Kirby both returned to wish this class best of luck! Each graduate was also given a small cross to wear on their gown during graduation as a way to continue to hold SJS close at heart.

Congratulations to the senior Class of 2024! We are proud of you and will keep you close in prayer as you begin this new chapter. Don’t ever forget your SJS roots…we are proud to call you a SJS alum!
