A few of our eighth grade students spent the day in Frankfort yesterday for the March For Life Convention. Abigail Reburn provided the reflection below as a way to share with all of us how the visit impacted her.
On March 11th, Justin Goff, Isabella Van Den Bosch, and I all went with Mr. Stith to Frankfort, Kentucky, for the March For Life Convention. When we arrived in Frankfort, we attended Mass at the Good Shepherd Church. Afterwards, we drove to the State Capital for the beginning of the March For Life. While at the Capital we listened to several speakers share their pro-life story. One of the stories that stood out to me was from a mother that told us about her doctor suggesting the option to abort her daughter who was a twin but significantly smaller than her twin sister. That mother chose life for her daughter. Both babies are healthy and just celebrated their first birthday. The speakers reminded us that abortion is a very real problem with our modern society.
I wanted to go to this convention because the topic of pro-life can be controversial and I wanted to gather with others who share my beliefs. The speaker’s testimonies also reminded me that we have to be aware of the twistedness in the world and we should stand against it.
